Picnic at the vineyards

vineyards in Saint Emilion

This is the last weekend of the Picnic at the vineyards events. The picnics are a great initiative by the Bienvenue à la ferme en Gironde association- every Friday 16 wineries in Gironde are hosting visitors for an event that includes wine and tapas of different local producers at a price of 7 euro per person. The visit has to be booked in advance directly from the winery – you can see the list of the chateaux here.

Visit the CitĂ© du Vin

If the pricey ticket to the Cité du Vin has deterred you from visiting it so far, this summer is your chance! The interactive wine museum reduced its ticket price from 20 euros to 10 euros for the residents of Bordeaux Metropole and free for kids under 17yo. You must show proof of residence to get the discount.

If you want to know what to expect in the museum, read my article about the Cite du Vin before going.

Go to Blassimon Lake

If you live east of Bordeaux, getting to the beaches of Arcachon can be a long journey. Luckily there are a few lakes in the region where you can find beautiful spots that are perfect for a family day at the beach. One of them is Lac Blasimon in Entre Deux Mers. You can read more about it here.

Free beach activities in Bordeaux

This summer (until August 31) Bordeaux Lac will offer FREE activities such as kayaking, SUP, zumba and more!
