The Fête de la musique is a national day of music celebration that takes place on the longest day of the year – the 21st of June. This day is being celebrated in every neighborhood and city in France and in more than 120 other cities around the world who joined this amazing French initiative. On Fête de la musique free concerts are organized in almost every pub and public places, like squares and parks, and all you have to do is take a stroll around the city and choose the music you prefer to listen to.
Like anywhere else in France, Bordeaux is going to be very festive tomorrow with plenty of concerts, dj sets and musical free activities in each and every neighborhood. If you like to keep it close to home, Marie de Bordeaux prepared a detailed list of all the events that are about to take place in the following neighborhoods: Bastide, Chartrons/ Grand parc/ Jardin Public, Nansouty / saint Genes, Cauderan, Saint Augustin, Bordeaux Maritime, South of Bordeaux and the center of the city- you can see the full program here.
This list is a very long, full with big and small events which makes it very hard to choose and make the best out of that day. So how do you know where to go tomorrow? That’s what I’m here for! I’ve prepared a list of 14 places with the biggest and most interesting events organized for la Fête de la musique, where you are promised to have a great time! Most of the events in the list are in the center of Bordeaux, but not only, there are some suggestions for those who prefer to stay out of the city on days like these. If you get to the end of the list there’s a bonus event – fete de la musique for kids that will take place over the weekend.
Cour Mably
Délicieuse Musique association will hold an event that will take place at Cour Malby and will include concerts and Dj’s.

Musee des Beaux-Arts
The museum will host the choirs of the national conservatoire of Bordeaux for a concert that will take place at 18:00. This event requires prior reservation by phone – 05 56 10 25 15

Saint Michel
An evening full of concerts, organized by Allez Les Filles will take place in Saint Michel. For more info check out the facebook event.

Place Fernand Lafargue
Bordeaux Rock assocoation will hold a big party at Place Fernand Lafargue with concerts and DJ’s playing only vinyls. For more details check out the website of Bordeaux rock.

Place du Palais
An evening of rock and psychedelic music will take place at Place du Palais with six concerts of different bands and dj’s: L’Astrodøme + Musique d’Apéritif, Wizard (rock progressif psychédélique), Equipe de Foot (indie rock), Korto (kraut psychédélique space), LA Witch (psych rock garage) + guest, Dj set L’Astrodøme + Musique d’Apéritif.

Place des Quinconces
Dj Lex MELOMIX et AKAPOULTEK will organize a trance party at Place des Quinconces

Place Saint Projet
As special event will take place at Place Saint Projet on rue Saint Catherine that will gather an improvised jungle full of strange creatures presented by Les Amplitudes and Raibow Pony. The party will be accompanied by house music.

Cathédrale Saint André
The main Cathedrale of Bordeaux will host a choir for a concert of an hour and a half.

L’Eau and Super Daronne will unite forces for a great musical night of house, disco and funk at la cour du Crédit Municipal.

Rocher de Palmer
FIP radio will celebrate the fête la Musique at the Rocher de Palmer in Cenon with concerts and a live broadcast.

South of Bordeaux (Square Dom Bedos )
An electronic music party will take place at Square Dom Bedos with the Dj’s Tplt and l’Orangeade getting together for a second collaboration.

Parc Peixotto, Talence
An evening full of music will take place in Park Peixotto with concerts of French songs by Charole Meli-Melo and several groups playing pop, rock and funk music.

Pessac
Many concerts will take place in the center of Pessac (place de la Liberté, place de la Ve République, hall de l’Hôtel de Ville, esplanade Charles de Gaulle, rue des Poilus et église Saint-Martin) starting 18:15. Later in the evening (22:15) the group Tenue will take the stage at place de la Ve République and will make you dance to the greatest songs of disco, funk and rock of the 70s and 80s. Conservatoire Jacques Thibaud de Bordeaux
Conservatoire de Bordeaux invites you for a special day of music concerts and performances in different locations around the city. Check out the program of the festival:

Bonus event – Fête de la Musique for kids – June 24th
This one has become a Bordelaise tradition. Every year, on the weekend following the Fête de la Musique, kids get to celebrate their own music day in Parc Bordelais. The event proposes a big program of musical activities such as concerts of different music schools, a workshop of electronic music for kids, a concert of the Orchestre d’Harmonie de Bordeaux and more.
