My main event this weekend was supposed to be the hot air balloon festival in Saint Emilion, but it was unfortunatelly canceled due to bad weahter 🙁
But let’s be positive and focus on all the other excellent events that are about to take place this weekend, among them the open doors weekend in Graves, the wine and Brocante festival in Bordeaux and the Bordeaux swing festival. Fête du Vin nouveau et de la Brocante
This weekend (October 19-20) the Chartrons neighborhood invites you to celebrate Autumn with a new wine and brocante festival. During these two days, the main street in Chartrons, rue Notre-Dame, will be transformed into a brocante (a mix between antique and flea markets) with wine stands and roasted chestnuts. Come and spend a festive weekend on one of the most interesting streets in Bordeaux. For more info click here.

Bordeaux Swing Festival
The international festival of Lindy hop (part of the Swing family) is taking place this weekend (October 18-20) in Bordeaux and this year their main guests are Jonathan Stout and his campus five and Hot Swing Sextet. Two swing parties will take place at the beautiful le Rocher de Palmer in Cenon, with a battle between the two bands. The program of the festival also includes 7 hours of classes with 11 international teachers. For more details check out the website of the festival.

FIFIB- Bordeaux international festival of independent movies
Bordeaux Independent Films Festival is taking place on October 15-21 at Rue Malby in the center of Bordeaux. The program includes film screenings, concerts, and meetings with special guests. Every evening, the festival village transforms into an open cinema theater and a dance floor. The event is free and open for all. Open doors in the Chateaux of Graves
Graves, one of the wine regions in the Bordeaux wine area, invites you to an open doors weekend, allowing you to discover its wines and châteaux. During the weekend (October 19-20) 67 châteaux will open their doors to visits, wine tastings, wine workshops and different activities for kids and adults. Zombie walk de Bordeaux
The Zombie Walk of Bordeaux is probably one of the best ways to get into the Halloween spirit. The walk will take place this Saturday (October 19) and will have the theme of “superhero zombies”. The event will start at 14:00 at Place de la Victoire. For more info click here.

The walking zombies will need a party to celebrate this creepy get together! This year the IBoat is hosting the Zombie party on October 19 starting from 18:00. For more info click here.

The 5th edition of the Fest’O’Tone festival will take place this Saturday (October 19) in the Salle Socio Culturelle in Listrac Médoc. The festive evening will include a line-up of concerts, a sculpture exhibition, a bar and a wine tasting space. For more info and tickets click here.

SUNDUB is a music event dedicated to Reggae & Dub music with a great lineup of free concerts. The event will take place on Sunday (October 20) at Université Bordeaux Montaigne in Pessac. For more details click here.

Mascaret festival Occitan de Bordeaux
Mascaret is an annual festival of Occitan culture in Bordeaux. Every weekend during the fall there are concerts and markets taking place in different places in Bordeaux to celebrate the Occitan culture. This Saturday (October 19) an Occitan market will take place at Place Fernand Lafargue, accompanied by different activities and music concerts. For more info click here.

Le salon du Bien-Etre de Cenon
The fair of well being of Cenon will take place this weekend (October 19-20) at the Cenon La Morlette sports club. The program includes 80 exhibitors, conferences and workshops. For more info click here.

Venez Cueillir Vos Pommes
Here’s a cool activity to do with your kids – apple picking! Vergers De Peyreton, a farm located about an hour from Bordeaux, invites you this Sunday (October 20) to pick your apples and spend a fun day at their place. For more details click here.

A weekend of Jazz music will take place this weekend (October 18-19) at the Rocher de Palmer in Cenon. Two acknowledged Jazz musicians, the French Guillaume Perret and the Israeli Yaron Herman will take the stage on Friday and Saturday nights. For more details click here and here.

Foire aux Plaisirs
This is the fall edition of the traditional Bordelais Fair taking place at Place des Quinconces from October 11 to November 3. It’s a perfect activity for kids and those who are young in spirit as La Foire aux Plaisirs de Bordeaux has it all: a big wheel, roller coasters, ghost trains, bumper cars, donuts, crèpes, candyfloss and more. The fair is open daily from 14:00, you are not required to pay any entry fee, only for some of the attractions. See more info about the fair here.

Le Règne des Dinosaures – an exhibition for kids
A big dinosaurs exhibition for kids will be presented at the Hippodrome Bordeaux-Le Bouscat on October 19 – November 11. The exhibition space will be open every day during the school break and on November 6, 9-11 from 14:00 to 18:00. For more details click here.

Marché des Producteurs
On Saturday (October 19) Darwin will host its big organic market with many local producers from all over the southwest of France. Among others, you will find stands of oysters, wine, cheese, flowers and more. For more info click here.

Le Salon d’Automne
Saint Emilion will host a big art exhibition with works by 24 artists from photographers to graffiti artists, sculptors, and many painters. The exhibition will be presented in Salle des Dominicains and Salle Gothique until October 20. For more details click here.
