November in Bordeaux is full of events, from the big antique fair to wine celebrations in Sauternes and a well-being festival at Darwin. Whether you’re into food, music, or local traditions, there’s plenty happening this month in and around the city.

Foire de La Toussaint

The big fair of Toussaint will take place from October 31 to November 2 on the banks of the Garonne River in La Reole. An ancient tradition in La Reole that brings together hundreds of local exhibitors and merchants. This is one of the biggest events in La Reole, fun for both kids and adults. Celebrate Halloween

Disney in Concert – Around the World

On November 2, Arkéa Arena in Bordeaux brings Disney in Concert: Around the World — a magical musical journey through Disney’s most beloved stories. From The Lion King to Frozen, Mulan to Pocahontas, an orchestra, singers, and dancers perform live while scenes are projected in high definition.

Le Festival Isulia 

The Isulia festival is a cultural event taking place on November 6-9 at the Base Sous Marine in Bordeaux. The goal of the festival is to promote emerging arts through a fun program of concerts, artistic workshops, kids’ activities, and more. See the full program here.

Festival Musical Écran

Festival Musical Écran is a unique film festival dedicated to documentaries about music. The festival will take place on November 8-15 in Cinéma Utopia. For the full program and all the details, click here.

Open doors in the Chateaux of Sauternes et Barsac

Sauternes et Barsac are two wine areas (appellation d’origine contrôlée) famous for their sweet white wines. On November 8-9, many of the wine producers of Sauternes and Barsac will open their doors to the public and give you an opportunity to discover their estates and taste their wines. La Raisin d’Or

La Raisin d’Or is a sports event taking place on November 8-9 in the vineyards of Sauternes, with two main activities: Nordic walking to Mountain biking. The goal of the event is to introduce people to this beautiful region and its chateaux through sports and fun activities. For details about all the activities taking place that weekend, click here.

Salon de l’Habitat Home

Explore the Salon de l’Habitat at Bordeaux’s Parc des Expositions on November 8-11. With 150 exhibitors across 7,000m², this event covers everything from home construction and renovation to landscaping and interior design. See details here.

L’esprit du Piano -Piano Festival

Festival L’esprit du Piano will take place at the Auditorium of the Opera of Bordeaux (and a few other music venues in Bordeaux) from November 12 to December 1st. This magnificent festival is hosting great pianists, some of whom will collaborate with the National Orchestra of Bordeaux and the choir of the Opera of Bordeaux. Bliss Yoga Festival

The Bliss Yoga festival will take place on November 14-16 in Darwin. The program of the festival includes yoga, meditation classes, a market, a well-being space, and even activities for kids.  For more info, check out the website of the festival.

Portes Ouvertes in Pomerol

Pomerol, the prestigious wine appellation, is hosting the annual open-door event on November 15-16. The list of the participating chateaux will be published in the following weeks here

Les portes ouvertes des châteaux de Sainte Croix du Mont

Sainte Croix du Mont is a small wine appellation in the Southeast of Gironde that produces sweet white wine. On November 15- 16, the chateaux of the appellation are hosting an open-door weekend with free tastings, see more info here.

Fête Du Livre Jeunesse Et Bd

The annual kids’ books and comics festival is taking place this year on November 18-22 at the Halles de Gascogne in Leognan. More than 3000 books will be presented at the event which also includes spectacles, activities for kids, games, and more. Many authors and editors will take part in the event and will sign books. Lettres du monde

The literature festival, Lettres du Monde, will take place on November 12-25 with lectures and debates in different venues across Bordeaux Metropole. Events will take place in libraries, schools, bookstores, cinemas and more. For more details, go here.

Salon des Arts et de la Creation

The town of La Brede in the south of Gironde is hosting an art fair with 50 artists and craftsmen from all over the region. The event is taking place on November 21-23 at the Salle des Sports de La Brède. See more details here.

Festival International du film d’Histoire

The International History Film Festival will be taking place on November 18-23. The rich program of the festival includes movie screenings, debates, and lectures with several historians as guests. For more info and the full program click here.

Brocante des Quinconces

The big brocante of Bordeaux (antique/flea market) is hosted twice a year at Place des Quinconces with 200 antique dealers, horticulturists, restaurants, and craftsmen. This fall edition of the market will take place from November 21 to December 7. Although it’s quite upscale, you can find some fine antiques and vintage pieces at a bargain price. Organic Wine Market in Bordeaux

Les Nouvelles Barriquades is the region’s biggest organic wine market, and this year it’s heading to the Cité du Vin for the first time. It’s happening on the weekend of November 29 to 30, and entry is free. For more info, click here.

les Journées Gourmandes Loupiac & Foie Gras

Les Journées Gourmandes Loupiac & Foie Gras is a great opportunity to get familiar with the sweet wines of Loupaic, meet the farmers of the region, and taste their gourmet production. This year, the event will take place on November 29-30 in different chateaux and farms in the region. See the list of participants here.

The Salon Bien-être

The big Well-being Fair of Bordeaux will take place from November 28-30 at the Parc des Expositions. The exhibitors are varied and come from all facets of daily life: food, home decor, therapies, and beauty. For more info, click here.

Marché de Noël de Bordeaux

The traditional Christmas market of Bordeaux will open its gates between November 28 and December 30. This is one of the biggest Christmas markets in the region with 150 pavilions selling all the traditional Christmas merchandise such as clothes, decorations, jewelry, toys, and local products.  For more info, click here.

Bayonne Fête Son Chocolat

The Chocolate Festival in Bayonne is taking place from October 31 to November 2 all over the Capital of the French Basque Country. See the full program here.

Foire de la Saint Martin

Like every year, la Foire de la Saint-Martin will take place in Duras on November 11 with more than 200 exhibitors and stands of local gastronomy, clothing, cars, a big vide grenier (a French version of a garage sale), and more. For more info, click here

If you’re driving from Bordeaux, take some time to discover the smallest village in France, Castelmoron d’Albret, which is located on the way.

La Flamme de l’Armagnac

Armagnac is one of the best products in the Southwest of France! Its production spreads over three departments in this region: Les Landes, Lot et Garonne, and Gers, all located within a 1-2 hour drive from Bordeaux. From the end of October to the beginning of January, the producers of Armagnac celebrate the distillery period with fun events at the chateaux and in small towns in the region.
