Matisse – Bassins de Lumières

From February 7, Bassins de Lumières unveils its new immersive exhibition dedicated to Henri Matisse.

This colorful show explores his bold use of colour, movement, and rhythm, projected across the monumental space and water reflections. The visit also includes a shorter immersive programme around Frida Kahlo.

Bar à vin éphémère – Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux

From 3 to 8 February, the vignerons of Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux pop up in the heart of Bordeaux.
Taste local wines directly with the producers, in a relaxed and friendly setting.

Expect wine tastings, cheese and charcuterie boards, DJ sets, and live sports on screen.
You can also buy your favourite bottles to take home.

La Traviata – Opéra de Bordeaux

From 26 January to 3 February, the Opéra de Bordeaux presents a new production of La Traviata for the 2025–2026 season. Inspired by La Dame aux camélias, Verdi’s opera tells the intimate and tragic story of Violetta, caught between love, illness, and social pressure.

Festival Pouce Bordeaux

Pouce is the annual kids’ dance festival taking place around the Bordeaux metropole. This year the festival will take place from January 25- to February 6. Check out the full program here.

Festival Méli Mélo

Festival Méli Mélo (January 31 – February 6) brings puppetry magic to towns around Bordeaux, with performances, exhibitions, and street shows. You can find the full program here.

Ratatam – kids festival

The Ratatam Kids Festival is taking place at the Entrepôt du Haillan from January 31 to February 8. The program includes concerts, animated movies, a painting contest, video games, meetings with cartoonists, a comics workshop, and more. Check out the full program here.

Festival Ciné Sans Frontières

Explore international cinema during the Festival Ciné Sans Frontières in the Arcachon Bay area.
The festival takes place across cinemas in La Teste-de-Buch and Arcachon, with over 40 films shown in original versions.

Lacanau en Jeu

Get ready for a playful weekend at Lacanau en Jeu! This unique festival celebrates games in all forms, from board games to video games and live performances. Held across two venues, the event offers tournaments, workshops, and giant games for all ages.

Jumping International de Bordeaux

Jumping International de Bordeaux is a big riding equestrian event that includes competitions, spectacles, and a fun fair. The event will take place February 5 -8 in Parc des Expositions de Bordeaux. For more details and tickets, click here.

la Brocante du Geek

 The Geek brocante (second-hand sale) will take place on February 8 at la Palio in le Taillan-Médoc. You can find rare card collections, video games, books, comic figures, and more.  The event also includes different games and activities for kids and adults. See all the details here.

La Foire au Bon GrasFines Gueules

The town of Monsegur is hosting a big regional food fair with the participation of plenty of local producers on February 8. See details here.

Dance Theatre of Harlem – Opéra de Bordeaux

From 11 to 15 February, Dance Theatre of Harlem performs at the Opéra de Bordeaux as part of the 2025–2026 season.

Founded in New York after the assassination of Martin Luther King, the company is known for blending classical ballet with modern influences.

Fête des Bœufs Gras de Bazas

Bazas is often listed among the most attractive villages in Gironde, and this traditional festival is one of the reasons why.
Every year since 1283, the town celebrates its famous Bazas beef with the Fête des Bœufs Gras, held the Thursday before Mardi Gras.The highlight is the oxen parade through the town center, judged by expert butchers.

 L’Hiver enchanté

Hiver Enchanté is an immersive artistic and ecological event transforming the Bois du Bouscat into a magical sanctuary. From December 19 to February 22, the forest comes alive with visual art installations, performances, and light displays created by artists and local residents, celebrating nature, community, and sustainability. BSF Festival – Salsa Weekender

February 2026 turns Talence into a salsa hotspot for a full weekend.
This dance-focused festival mixes workshops, parties, and a live concert in a friendly, high-energy setting.Expect classes for all levels, social dancing every night, and a strong international line-up of teachers, DJs, and musicians.

Le Nouvel An Chinois

Bordeaux will celebrate the new Chinese year with a fun parade on February 22. For more details, click here.

Foire aux Plaisirs de Printemps

From 27 February to 22 March, the spring edition of Bordeaux’s funfair takes over Place des Quinconces.Nearly 200 rides, attractions, and food stalls make it an easy family outing.
Expect classic fairground treats like churros, candy floss, and beignets.

Go to a concert at Arkea Arena

Arkea Arena is one of the biggest concert venues in Bordeaux, hosting a great variety of shows from French mega starts to dance shows and spectacles for kids. It’s a great option for the cold days of February. See the full program here.

Festival International de la Bande Dessinée d’Angoulême

The famous International Comics Festival of Angouleme will take place between January 29 and February 1. Angouleme is the comics capital of France and is famous for its amazing street art.
