There are a lot of cool events this weekend in Bordeaux and in many beautiful places around it. Les Epicuriales is finally back with plenty of nice restaurants. We also have the Fête de la Morue in Begles, Festival Vie Sauvage in Bourg, a jazz festival in Leognan and more. Les Epicuriales

This foodie event taking place on June 13-23 has become an early summer Bordelaise tradition. For 11 days les Epicuriales festival transforms Allées de Tourny (next to the Opera) to gastronomic heaven with about twenty restaurants set up especially for the event. The highlight of the event is ”Les Étoiles d’Épicure”, a restaurant that will host a different Michelin star chef every evening. For more details check out their website or their facebook page.

Fête de la Morue

For more than two centuries, Bègles has been an important center of Morue (codfish) in France. Since 1996, this suburb of Bordeaux celebrates the Morue every year with la Fête de la Morue, a popular culinary and culture festival that gives a stage to young artists. This year the festival will take place on June14-16, and as always it comes with a rich program of concerts, cooking workshops, exhibitions, tastings, conferences and more. Festival Vie Sauvage

Vie Sauvage, is a music and gastronomy festival that takes place every year in Bourg. The eighth edition of the festival will take place on June 14-16 and includes a long list of artists that will take the stage during the three days. The Medieval Festival of South Gironde

The Medieval Festival of Gironde will take place on June 15-16 in the Cabiros forest in Landiras (about 40 min. south of Bordeaux). This unique site, at the heart of the forest, creates a perfect medieval atmosphere for this unique festival. The medieval village, the costumes and sword fights are only part of the activities that will help you discover the history and culture of these ancient times. SoliFest OFF Festival

Solifest is an associative festival that will take place this weekend (June 15-16) in Darwin. The program includes a lineup of DJs, an art exhibition, workshops, and conferences. For the full program and more information click here.

Fêtes de la St Jean

Fêtes de la St Jean is a fun event that will take place this weekend (June 14-16) in Saint Macaire. The program includes plenty of activities for kids, DJ sets, concerts and more. For more info click here.

Queyries fait son Cirque

Queyries fait son Cirque is a circus festival for both professionals and amateurs. The program includes open-air contemporary circus shows, circus workshop for parents and kids, and a festival village with exhibitions and activities for kids. The festival is taking place on June 12-15 at the Centre d’animation Bastide Queyries. For more details click here.

Sauternes Fête le Vin

Sauternes is a wine region in the South of Gironde famous for its white sweet wine. This Saturday (June 15) it will celebrate its wine with a day full of wine tasting, cocktails, and music. For more details and the list of chateaux participating in the event click here.

La Fêtarade

La Fêtarade is a music festival that will take place this weekend (June 14-15) at plage de la Hume in Gujan Mestas. You can see the lineup and more details here.

Journées de l’archéologie au château de Villandraut

This weekend (June 15-16) a fun archeology event will take place at the beautiful château de Villandraut in the South of Gironde. The program for the archeology days includes special guided tours in the castle, archeology workshops for kids and a reconstructive workshop where participants will build castles from clay. Jazz and Blues Festival in Leognan

The 24th edition of the Jazz and Blues Festival of Leognan will take place on June 6-15. Six concert nights will be given in four different towns in the area: Beautiran, Saucats, Martillac et Léognan. Take a look at the full program here.

Battle BBOY

BBOYFRANCE, the French breakdance championship will take place this Sunday (June 16) at the Rocher de Palmer in Cenon. It’s a cool event where many new French talents are being discovered every year. For tickets and more info click here.
