After quite a sleepy August in our region, September seems to welcome back many of the events the region is known for. This September you can visit many wineries at open door weekends, go to a dance festival, a street arts festival, discover the heritage of the region and more.
Due to COVID-19 many events are going to be in a modified format so make sure to always click on the links I add to the description of every event before going there. And most importantly don’t forget to put on a mask and keep the necessary distance from other people. Here’s the list of things to do in Bordeaux in September 2020.
Go see the amazing Gustave Klimt exhibition – D’or et de couleurs
If you still haven’t seen the long-awaited Gustave Klimt exhibition at the Bassins de Lumières (previously known as the Base sous-marine), it’s time to finally dedicate a day for that 🙂 . This is one of the most stunning exhibitions to ever arrive in Bordeaux and a visit there is a must! Whereas previously the quays of the Base sous-marine were used only to access the exhibition, this time all four pools, the quais, and the bridges are all used to screen the animated paintings of Klimt and his friends in the Vienna Secession movement. The result is mesmerizing! Important information: tickets must be bought in advance (here’s the link) and masks are obligatory.
