Now you can read about my visit to the chateau 🙂
Today my post is a bit more personal than usual but it’s really worth reading because you can win an amazing prize in the end! And when I say amazing I mean a night and a private photo shoot in a beautiful chateau! So this is serious!!
Since I started this blog I’ve visited countless breathtaking chateaux in the region but scrolling through my posts you’ll notice that I’m never in the photos (luckily I have my kids pose as models 🙂 ). The reason is that, like many women I know, I’m a bit embarrassed to show off the “princess in the castle”. That’s why I was very excited when Chateau Fengari in the Charente department invited me and my little girl Mika for a private photo shoot by a professional photographer, Bruce Smith. We had the most amazing afternoon at the chateau, dressing up in fancy dresses and taking photos at the mysterious chateau and its beautiful garden (they even have a private lake).
Now, listen carefully, you too have a chance to win a free private photoshoot with Bruce in Chateau Fengari as well as a night’s stay for two guests at the chateau, isn’t that amazing? So before we go into the details of the competition I’ll introduce you to the chateau and Bruce’s work.
Chateau Fengari, built in 1880 as a Cognac producing chateau and now rejuvenated as a beautiful sanctuary, hosts groups of all sizes for retreats, weddings and events. It also opens its doors every year for those wishing to experience a little taste of chateau life for themselves. Guests can stay in a B&B bedroom or reserve the entire chateau for a self-catering holiday. The chateau is very impressive, with original furniture and paintings revealing facets of its past. If the weather is good you can spend time in the beautiful garden gazing at horses running in the background. In front of the chateau, there’s a little private forest where you can take a stroll around the lake. I’ve seen many photos and videos of weddings celebrated in the chateau and it looks beautiful. You can see all the info about the chateau and its services here.
Our private photoshoot was done by Bruce Smith, a professional fashion and portrait photographer that happens to live in Chateau Fengari. Bruce has been working in the fashion industry for almost 40 years and you can see some of his stunning works on his site and in the bottom of this post. Although he has spent most of his career working with professional models you can see that real people are his favourite subjects. He is such a lovely and attentive guy with a special gift to make any lady feel beautiful and comfortable even when she’s a bit camera shy like me :). What amazed me the most was the patience he had photographing my daughter. She is a very active 3 years old so it’s not obvious at all! The whole afternoon there was a blast! A stunning chateau, a makeup session, beautiful gowns (for those who really want to feel like a duchess in a chateau) and one brilliant photographer.
And now to the amazing news! Chateau Fengari and Bruce were kind enough to offer my readers a free photography session just like the one I experienced!
So what do you get?
Bruce offers you a free photography session at Chateau Fengari which includes 8 (5in x 7in) prints of images you liked the most. You can see on his site that the price of this package is 1520 euros so the fact he’s offering that for free to my readers is quite amazing. It’s a session for two people so you can take your spouse, girlfriend, boyfriend, kid, mom, etc. I honestly think that this is an amazing gift to offer for Christmas!
But this is not all! The chateau is also offering one night B&B stay for two people, so you can really relax and enjoy your time there. I’m so excited that one of you is going to experience that!
