Les Chantiers de la Garonne – a sandy beach in the middle of the city

If you want to stay in the city but still have a beach atmosphere, this hidden gem is exactly what you need. Les Chantiers de la Garonne is a bar/ restaurant located on the right bank of the Garonne (in front of Darwin) with a beautiful view on the river and historic Bordeaux. While the interior of the restaurant is beautiful, I personally prefer the outside beach with low tables that create a very laid back and cool atmosphere. If you choose to sit outside you can order delicious oysters from the cold menu. This place is open only in the summer so don’t miss out.
